As a part of the building's long history, ​built in the 1850s, the building had a long list of titles and uses - the Church of England School, the Sabbath School, School Hall, School Room, Sunday School Hall and Anglican Parish Hall. By 1919 the hall had fallen into disrepair and in 1922 it was reconstructed and reopened with a grand celebration. A subsequent Memorandum of Understanding between St Andrews Parish, the Diocese of Canberra
and Goulburn and a newly formed Community Management Committee (CMC) of all lay volunteers was created.
Now known as the Braidwood Old Sunday School Hall, the major restoration project was embarked upon by the CMC in several stages as funding opportunities arose.
In 2020, the newly established Braidwood Old Sunday School Hall Association took over the management of the restoration project and is now maintaining the the fully restored building through amking its facilities available for hire.
